Text Message Terms

Version 1.1 | Effective August 13, 2026

These Text Message Terms describe the text message programs operated by AurellaAI, Inc. (“AurellaAI,” “we,” or “us”) in connection with the Aurella client portal, and the terms on which you receive those messages. They apply to text messages sent to mobile numbers in the United States. By providing your mobile number and consenting to receive text messages, you agree to these Terms.

1. WHO SENDS THESE MESSAGES

AurellaAI, Inc. operates the secure client portal used by the professional services firm that prepares your tax return. Where you consent to receive text messages, AurellaAI sends them to you on that firm’s behalf, and AurellaAI is the sender registered with the United States mobile carriers for that purpose. Our messages identify both AurellaAI and your firm, so that you can recognize them.

If you are a practitioner who uses the Aurella platform on behalf of your firm, these Terms also apply to the sign-in codes we send you, and Section 4 of the Platform Terms of Use describes how you select or change that method.

Your relationship for tax and professional services purposes remains with your firm. AurellaAI does not prepare your return, does not provide tax advice, and does not contact you for any purpose other than as described below.

2. THE MESSAGE PROGRAMS

We operate two text message programs and no others.

Verification codes. When you sign in to the client portal, or when you ask us to send you a code, we text you a one-time code so we can confirm that the person signing in controls your mobile number. These messages are sent only when you request them. The code is for your use alone and should not be shared with anyone.

Account notifications. We text you about your engagement with your firm: when documents are outstanding and need your attention, when your return is available for you to review, and when your portal profile or contact details have been changed.

The two kinds of message come from different numbers, so you can stop the updates without losing the sign-in codes you need to get into the portal. See Section 6. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. We do not include tax return information in the body of a text message. That means no dollar figures, no form or schedule names, and no part of any taxpayer identification number.

3. HOW YOU SIGN UP

There are two separate things to agree to, and they work differently.

Sign-in codes. On the sign-in screen you enter your mobile number and tick a box, which is not ticked for you, agreeing to receive one-time sign-in codes from AurellaAI, Inc. (Aurella). Next to that box we set out what you will receive, that a code is sent only when you ask for one, that message and data rates may apply, and how to get help or cancel. We do not text a number you have not entered yourself, and your firm cannot request a code on your behalf. Because the code is how we confirm it is really you, you do need a mobile number that can receive texts in order to use the portal.

Updates about your return. The same screen has a second box, also not ticked for you, for notifications from AurellaAI, Inc. (Aurella) on behalf of your firm about documents, your return, and profile changes. It is separate from the box for sign-in codes. You can sign in and use the portal without ticking it, and if you leave it unticked we email those updates to you instead.

4. MESSAGE FREQUENCY

Message frequency varies. Verification codes are sent only in response to your request. Account notifications depend on the activity on your return and do not ordinarily exceed ten messages in a calendar month.

5. COST

Message and data rates may apply. AurellaAI does not charge you for text messages. Your mobile carrier may charge you for messages you receive, according to your plan. If you are unsure, check with your carrier.

6. HOW TO STOP MESSAGES

Reply STOP to any update message. We will send you one message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, we will send no further update messages to that number, and we will email those updates to you instead.

You may also stop them by contacting us at support@aurella.ai or by asking your firm to update your contact preferences. We honor a request to stop received by any reasonable means.

Stopping update messages does not affect your sign-in codes. They come from a different number and will keep arriving when you ask for one, so stopping updates will not lock you out of the portal.

One thing to know. If you reply STOP to a sign-in code rather than to an update, you will stop receiving codes, and you will not be able to sign in until you reply START to that same number. The code is how we confirm it is you. If you are having trouble signing in, reply HELP or contact your firm rather than replying STOP.

Stopping text messages does not close your portal account and does not stop email from your firm.

7. HOW TO GET HELP

Reply HELP to any message and we will reply with information about the program and how to reach us. You may also contact us at support@aurella.ai, or contact your firm directly.

8. CARRIERS AND DELIVERY

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier’s network and on your device, and we cannot guarantee that any particular message will be delivered or delivered at a particular time. Do not rely on a text message as your only notice of a deadline; the client portal is the authoritative record of what your firm needs from you.

Message programs are supported on the major United States carriers. Support on smaller carriers may vary.

9. YOUR MOBILE NUMBER

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number, or the record of your consent to receive text messages, with any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. We disclose it only to the messaging provider that transmits our messages, which may use it only for that purpose, and to the firm whose client you are.

If your mobile number changes, or if you no longer use the number you gave us, please update it in the client portal or tell your firm, so that messages intended for you are not sent to someone else.

10. ELIGIBILITY

By consenting to receive text messages you confirm that you are at least eighteen years of age and that you are the account holder for, or an authorized user of, the mobile number you have provided.

11. PRIVACY

Our handling of your mobile number and of your consent is described in Section 10 of our Privacy Policy, at https://aurella.ai/privacy. Your firm’s own privacy notice governs your relationship with your firm.

12. CHANGES

We may revise these Terms. The current version is published at this address and is identified by the version number and effective date above. Where a revision materially affects the messages we send or how you can stop them, we will provide notice before it takes effect.
